Village Ministry 1

Today, we went out for our first village ministry at night. It wasn't what I was expecting at all. But then again, I'm not sure what I expected anyway. We were all crowded in a tiny blue room. Around thirty children, twenty adults and a wet carpet. The room was the size of a normal dining room in an apartment. This was their church. Nevertheless, the size of the room did not hold back the children from their worship. They were so passionate, grateful, joyful, friendly and enthusiastic.
This, is the new generation of Bairwa people in India.
This is the next generation that will fight for Christ in their villages, cities and country.
They are the seed of hope, and the seed of God in India.

Arriving at the village and meeting the beautiful people.

Cry,

How is it so easy to cry over such small frustrations
and so hard to cry over an injured body, or a desperate soul?
How is it so easy to cry over a sappy romance movie,
and so hard to cry over a suffering nation?
Lord, f i l l m y h e a r t w i t h c o m p a s s i o n !
Break me for what breaks You.

Whoever said you'll lose weight in India, was a big chubby manipulator.
I definitely feel an extra couple pounds on my belly already.

Flood

It's raining a lot in India, for the first time in 4-5 years.
Please pray for India.

What is Your Idea?

Make my heart similar to Yours.
Help me think and feel as You do.
Rid me of my own knowledge,
my 'wisdom', and all the things I think I know.
Instead, fill me with Your ideas-
what You know, what You intend.
L e t m e g o w i t h Y o u r f l o w .
I want confidence in You, not arrogance in myself.
I need, and want your direction.
I will follow.

Quick Tour

The Hawa Mahal

Jal Mahal, Man Sagar Lake

And... we saw an elephant!

How exciting is that?

A house is not a home.

I met a little girl on the way. She was holding her baby brother's hand with one hand, and with the other, a small water jar. The rims around her languid eyes were black. She kept approaching us with a sense of curiosity but would only stand in front of me to stare at me and to pose for the camera. But her smile was frequently interrupted by her disagreeable facial expressions- I wasn't sure if she was just relaxing from her unnatural efforts of smiling or if she was just being playful. She was barely responsive, and I couldn't tell if she conveyed warmth or coldness. In a way, she conveyed both. After a while, she walked into this shelter, where a few others were sitting around. I watched her for a long time until it hit me...

They live here.
This is their home.

The Pink City

Much to our excitement,
we got a chance to take a walk around the neighborhood after the service.
Summer resting.

Youngrae and Ellen, the cutest couple I absolutely adore :)
Looking around the neighborhood.

A natural model.

The children brought a beautiful puppy out of nowhere.

Children in the neighborhood playing.

I love the way they flaunt their dresses without trying when they walk.
A gigantic pink house.
